Most intriguing are cases of mass disappearances of people organized in armies of soldiers who disappeared without trace, or very large groups of people who enter a place and suddenly vanish.
Generally, historians have difficulties to accept the evidence for mass disappearances. However, such mysterious events have been recorded and remain as unsolved.
In this article we take a closer look at some of the most baffling mass disappearance case that have been documented. Some of these events occurred a long time ago, while other cases are more recent. What all these stories have in common is that they are unexplained and involve a great number of people who were never seen again.
