Patasola: Hideous One-Legged Female Vampire Who Kills Driven By Hatred
A. Sutherland - AncientPages.com - In Colombian folklore, the Patasola (‘La Patasola’) is a female monster living on the summits of the plain. She has only one leg but can move with astonishing speed.
People say they have seen her hopping on one leg over saws, through ravines, and across roads, crying out in sorrow. She is the troubled spirit of a woman who was unfaithful, wandering across mountains, valleys, and plains after bringing shame to her children and failing to respect her husband.
She is a dangerous, ruthless vampire, known as an enemy of men who bring only hatred and fear. Settlers, hunters, miners, farmers, travelers, and loggers all fear her. She especially torments and tricks unfaithful husbands. With her supernatural powers, she can transform into animals, such as a cow or a large black dog, by calling for help.
