‘Impossible’ Advanced Ancient Technology In Mesopotamia – Evidence Of Other-Worldly Interaction?
Ellen Lloyd - AncientPages.com - We have seen countless examples confirming what many long suspected: ancient people were much more advanced than previously thought. Sumerians, Babylonians and the Akkadians were excellent astronomers who regularly watched the skies.
People in Mesopotamia created star charts and calendars that were astonishingly accurate. The Babylonian calendar is one of the greatest achievements of antiquity. It combines a solar and a lunar cycle in such a way that the beginning of the year never wanders far from the Spring equinox.
A clay tablet recovered from the 650 BC underground library of King Ashurbanipal in Nineveh, Iraq, reveals ancient Sumerians may have even observed and recorded the impact of the Aten asteroid over 5,000 years ago. In addition to this, there is also evidence ancient Assyrians documented unusual solar activity on clay tablets 2,700 years ago.
There is no doubt people in Mesopotamia were intrigued with the skies but did they know more about the secrets of the Universe than we have been led to believe? Having their astronomical achievements in mind will make it easier for us to discuss the possibility Sumerians and Babylonians possessed “impossible” technology. If this is true, where could we hope to find traces of this remarkable high-tech, and can we ever locate it?
