Mysterious Ancient Oil Lamps In Ohio And Wisconsin – Evidence Of Pre-Columbian Contact?
Ellen Lloyd - AncientPages.com - Most agree today that Christopher Columbus was not the first person to discover America. Who exactly discovered America and when is still a subject of debate.
It’s almost embarrassing, but Columbus was actually one of the last explorers to reach the Americas. Before his arrival, America had already been visited by the Vikings led Leif Erikson, son of Erik the Red.
According to some theories, seafaring travelers from China, Africa and Europe were also present on the continent long before Vikings.
There are many intriguing theories, lots of speculations, but definite evidence is still missing and perhaps we will never find out who first landed on American shores.
This should not discourage us from exploring further and digging deeper into the history of North America. Every discovered artifact can offer valuable information and clues about what really happened in America in the distant past.
Many artifacts unearthed in America have been labeled fakes because their existence contradict what is written in our history books. Some of these ancient objects are in fact hoaxes, but there are also artifacts that have been “lost” or never properly examined by scientists.
