These women were acclaimed not only for their superior battlefield skills, but also for their cunning strategies. They were distinguished for being great, inspirational leaders.
Like other cultures, warfare in feudal Japan was primarily a man’s business. Yet even then, a few women warriors existed, and one of the most famous was Tomoe Gozen.
