There is much historical evidence of destruction and capture of this ancient city, with many architectural and cultural treasures, including the ca. 2800 BC observatory at Metsamor.
The site of Metsamor, near Taronik in Armavir, Armenia, offers a compelling glimpse into an early urban center, comprising both a fortified city and a lower town. During the Bronze Age, Metsamor developed into a significant city characterized by Cyclopean walls and a ziggurat.
