Mystery Of The Lost Beverina Castle – Did Knights Templar Know Where It Was?
Ellen Lloyd - AncientPages.com - The lost Beverina Castle is shrouded in mystery. It is mentioned in ancient texts and legends, but it has never been found.
The castle is mentioned in the Chronicle of Henry and ancient legends tells this mysterious place is located somewhere near the Trikata mound and lake in the Beverina region in Latvia.
It is believed the Latvian castle was stormed and attacked by the Estonians in 1208.
When the Estonians retreated, they spent the night in the vicinity of the Trikata lake, but they were attacked by the Knights Templar who chased them away. What later happened is unknown.
