One tomb was shaped like a pyramid and the other like a cylinder.

Locals were astonished and one person said the discovery reminds him of the Egyptian pyramids. “This is truly magical. I've never seen anything like this. It looks like an Egyptian pyramid,' he told local reporters.

The tomb is of course much smaller than the pyramids in Egypt. Inside a coffin chamber, archaeologists found also another tomb that is shaped like a half cylinder.

The chamber, which is 98 feet (30 meters) long and 26 feet (eight meters) wide, was built in a west-east position with the entrance facing the east. It features a narrow aisle leading to a main dome next to the pyramid-shaped tomb.

Circular-shaped tombs with a pointed roof have previously been discovered in the region, but tombs shaped like pyramids are unusual.

We still don't know the age of the tombs and who was buried inside.

According to Henan Cultural Relic Bureau, such tombs appeared after the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) and were often built with bricks.

There are pyramids in the country, but most of them, like the Great Pyramid in China are almost unknown, even to the Chinese.
